Clark Takes Win on Potomac

Patrick Clark of Spotsylvania, Virginia topped the field with a five fish limit that weighed in at 14.82 pounds for the AFT D11 July 31st event. High heat and humidity as well as locally heavy rains leading up to the event made for a tough bite. Pat only managed five bites the whole day with his kicker of 5.51 pounds. Denali’s Lithium Series rods strength and sensitivity helped Pat pull his fish from the grass mats on the main river.

Edward Kenyon caught the day’s Big Bass at 5.55 pounds from the back of Pat's boat.

Top Five Finishers
1. Patrick Clark      14.82 lbs
2. Mark Sipos        13.76 lbs
3. Scott Randall     12.29 lbs
4. Michael Roselle  12.20 lbs
5. Brett Ewing        11.47 lbs

The next event scheduled for this division will be the Divisional Championship on August 20th and August 21st. Any anglers that have fished at least four 1-day qualifiying events may fish this event. For more information on this event or any future events please contact the local director, Scott Randall, at (540)421-1120 or visit www.americanbassanglers.com.

These anglers are earning valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual Ram American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.

The Ram American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.
