Dill Takes Win on Stockton
Local angler, Mike Dill of Greenfield, Missouri took the win Saturday, June 23rd at D126 event on Stockton Lake. Dill’s five fish bag weighed 12.03 pounds and gave him a $541 payday.
Second place went to Jay Carter with a five fish limit weighing 11.50 pounds earning him $254.
Dominic Cavitt took third with four fish that weighed 11.18 pounds, anchored with Big Bass of the tournament weighing 5.56 pounds. Cavitt won a total of $219.
Anglers launched at 6:00 a.m. under overcast skies and low 70’s air temperature. The water temperature was in the mid 80’s. The sun came out later in the day and the wind came out of the southwest at 10-15 mph. Air temperatures reached upper 80’s by the 2:30 p.m. weigh-in.
This was one, in a series of tournaments, conducted by American Bass Anglers, D126, held on Stockton Lake. This tournament series is a draw format and designed for the week-end angler, boaters and non-boaters, from age 14.
The next tournament for this circuit will be July 23, 2016 on Stockton Lake using Old State Park as launch site. The full schedule can be seen at www.centralmidwestbass.com. The season will culminate with a 2-day Championship set for August 27-28, 2016. Anglers fish each tournament for cash and prizes from area sponsors including Pete’s, the Outboard Doctor, Albers Marine, Happy O’s, Legacy Farm & Lawn John Deere and Antlers Ridge, as well as points that qualify them to fish a National Championship to be held on Lake Eufaula, AL October 18-22, 2016.

These anglers are earning valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual Ram American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.

R. V. Mann Jr. wins on Lake Gaston
R. V. Mann Jr., of Whitkers, North Carolina won the AFT Division 17, North Carolina Central tournament on Lake Gaston. The event was held on Lake Gaston on 17 November 2018, launching out of Salmon Landing (Little Stonehouse Creek) off of 903 in Littleton, North Carolina. It was a tough day of fishing starting off in the lower 30’s, warming to around 55 in the afternoon.
Kerry and Heather Wilson win on Lake Jordan
ATHENS, Ala. – Kerry and Heather Wilson won the American Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held November 10, 2018, on Lake Jordan. Running out of the Bonnor’s Landing, the team caught 5-bass weighing 10.31-pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $405.00. The Wilson’s caught their fish on swim jigs.
