Greg and Deborah Fuller Win American Couples Series on Lay Lake
Greg and Deborah Fuller won the American Couples Series, Central Alabama Division tournament, held April 16, 2016, on Lay Lake. Running out of the Narrows boat ramp near Shelby, the team from Alexander City, Alabama, caught five bass weighing 15.65 pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $585. The Fuller’s caught their fish on a shaky-head and jig in 12-15 feet of water. Deborah won the Women’s Big Fish contest with a 3.84-pound lunker and Greg won Men’s Big Fish with a 6.17-pound kicker.
In second place, Joseph and Dimple Clevinger of Troy, Alabama, caught five bass weighing 14.36 pounds. Catching most of their fish on a carolina rig and jig in five to eight feet of water, they pocketed a check for $390.
The third place team of Bobby and Sandra Holman of Brookwood, Alabama, caught five bass weighing 12.95 pounds.
Fourth place, Donathan and Sherry Jacks of Clanton, Alabama, caught five bass weighing 12.76 pounds.
Jimbo and Pattie McLain rounded out the top five teams with five bass weighing 12.50 pounds.
All American Bass Anglers, American Couples Series events involve a team format with each team composed of one man and one woman. Contestants between 14 and 18 years old may participate with a parent’s written permission.
The next divisional tournament for the American Couples Series division one is May 21st on the Alabama River out of the Swift Creek boat ramp. The top angling couples from across the nation earn the right to compete in the annual American Bass Anglers Couples Series National Championship tournament.

Rickie Bonner Takes the Win on the Tensaw River
December 8, 2018, Mobile, AL. Rickie Bonner of Mobile, Alabama won the American Fishing Tour Division 41 tournament presented by American Bass Anglers. Running out of Live Oak Landing near Stockton, Alabama Bonner brought back five-fish that locked in the scales at 11.76-lbs anchored by a 3.23-pound kicker. For the victory, Bonner took home a check for $376.

The South Carolina Couples Division 11 has canceled the 12/8 tournament scheduled for Lake Wateree. This decision has been made due to falling lake levels, the ramp and the launch site is inaccessible.
