Donathan & Sherry Jacks win on Lake Mitchell
Donathan and Sherry Jacks won the American Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held March 19, 2016 on Lake Mitchell.
Running out of Higgins Ferry Marina near Clanton, the team from Clanton, AL, caught five bass weighing 17.68 pounds for the victory. Donathan and Sherry earned a check for $600.00. The Jacks’ caught their fish on mid-lake in deep water on shaky heads and crank baits. Sherry won the Woman’s Big Fish contest with a 4.73-pound lunker.
In second, Jimmy and Jean Isom of Pell City, AL, caught five bass weighing 15.93 pounds. They caught most of their fish on worms by the dam and pocketed a check for $360.00. Taking third place, the team of Jimbo & Pattie McLain of Weogufka, AL, caught five bass weighing 14.90 pounds. Terry Durham from McCalla and Ann Boatright of Cleveland, AL, caught 5 bass weighing 14.27 pounds to take fourth place. Joseph and Dimple Clevinger rounded out the top five teams with five bass weighing 13.73 pounds. Adam Smith won Man’s Big Fish with a 6.39-pound kicker.

2019 American Fishing Tour
Athens, AL. American Bass Anglers (ABA) announced today the 2019 season for the American Fishing Tour (AFT). The tour is a draw format that offers more than seventy divisions with 600-900 tournaments per season across the eastern half of the United States. Members of ABA qualify for the year-end national championship by competing locally in a minimum of four one-day divisional qualifying events and a Divisional two-day championship.

This decision has been made due to falling lake levels, the ramp and the launch site is inaccessible.
