Anthony DeFelice wins on Candlewood LakeATHENS, Ala. - Anthony (T.J.) DeFelice won the American Fishing Tour presented by American Bass Anglers, Connecticut Division 6 tournament, held on Candlewood Lake .Running out of the Squantz Cove ramp near the town of New Fairfield Connecticut, the recently released Marine soldier returned home from North Carolina and now residing in Trumbull Connecticut, caught 5 bass weighing 11.86 pounds. The fish were in the later stages of the spawn and T.J. targeted mainly smallmouth just outside their spawning coves and in shallow water. He said he caught the majority of his fish with soft plastics and chatterbaits. For the victory, he took home a check for $401.00In second among the competitors, Pete Byrnes from Long Island New York caught 5 bass weighing 9.98 pounds. Pete also caught the big bass of the tournament and he pocketed a check for $247.00.Taking third place was Albert Pallavicini from New Jersey, catching 5 bass weighing in at 9.68 pounds.In fourth place, Tom Sweeney of Glastonbury Connecticut, caught a limit of bass for 9.62 pounds and Tom Dupuis from Terryville Connecticut rounded out the top five competitors with 5 smallmouth weighing 8.49 pounds.These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. R. V. Mann Jr. wins on Lake Gaston
R. V. Mann Jr., of Whitkers, North Carolina won the AFT Division 17, North Carolina Central tournament on Lake Gaston. The event was held on Lake Gaston on 17 November 2018, launching out of Salmon Landing (Little Stonehouse Creek) off of 903 in Littleton, North Carolina. It was a tough day of fishing starting off in the lower 30’s, warming to around 55 in the afternoon.
Kerry and Heather Wilson win on Lake Jordan
ATHENS, Ala. – Kerry and Heather Wilson won the American Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held November 10, 2018, on Lake Jordan. Running out of the Bonnor’s Landing, the team caught 5-bass weighing 10.31-pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $405.00. The Wilson’s caught their fish on swim jigs.
