ABA Anglers TAKE A WARRIOR FISHINGAmerican Bass Anglers, Division 126 was host for a “Take A Warrior Fishing” event held Saturday, May 30, 2015 on Stockton Lake. Eight active duty military from Ft. Leonard Wood were guests of D126 anglers for a day on the lake, as the ABA anglers competed in a regularly scheduled qualifying tournament. The soldiers were each given a rod/reel combo and then paired with an ABA angler.Each soldier was given a year’s membership to American Bass Anglers and invited to fish in any ABA tournament as an ABA angler. The top three weights caught by the service men were Devin Fox with 2.84 lbs, Steven Hooper with 1.82 lbs and James Cowherd with 1.66 lbs.Take A Warrior Fishing is one division of the C.A.S.T. (Catch A Special Thrill) foundation and supports several events each year for kids as well as military personnel. Jeff Barns is the new Eastern Regional Director and was present at this event on Stockton Lake. “We want to grow these events in number participating and events held each year,” said Barnes. “This will probably be an annual event here on Stockton Lake,” he added.More information about C.A.S.T. can be found at www.castforkids.org. R. V. Mann Jr. wins on Lake Gaston
R. V. Mann Jr., of Whitkers, North Carolina won the AFT Division 17, North Carolina Central tournament on Lake Gaston. The event was held on Lake Gaston on 17 November 2018, launching out of Salmon Landing (Little Stonehouse Creek) off of 903 in Littleton, North Carolina. It was a tough day of fishing starting off in the lower 30’s, warming to around 55 in the afternoon.
Kerry and Heather Wilson win on Lake Jordan
ATHENS, Ala. – Kerry and Heather Wilson won the American Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held November 10, 2018, on Lake Jordan. Running out of the Bonnor’s Landing, the team caught 5-bass weighing 10.31-pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $405.00. The Wilson’s caught their fish on swim jigs.
