This Season's Tournament Rules

THIS SEASON YOU WILL BE FISHING TO QUALIFY FOR THE 2024 RAY SCOTT; LOCATION IS TBD.

PLEASE READ ALL THE RULES FOR 2023 and all the information on this page.  Changes were made to registration/check-in times and the point system.

Boaters: are guaranteed entry and use of their boat.  ABA does not pair boater on boater.  If the number of co-anglers is less than boaters, some boaters will fish alone.  All pairings and boat numbers are done by random computer draw at 6 PM on Friday, after open registration.

Co-Anglers: Priority for entry is given to those who sign up the soonest.  The longer you wait to register, the less your chances are that you will get a back seat so please do not wait.  Links are NOT REQUIRED but are optional for co-anglers to guarantee their entry.  Both parties must be present for that event.

On-site Registrations: Each angler must register in person at the designated place during official registration hours, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm local time, the day prior to the event.  On-site registrations will not be accepted after 6:00 pm Friday, the day before the event.  Anglers registering on-site will be assessed a $25 late fee.  

Mandatory meeting: The pre-tournament Safety and Rules meeting is mandatory for all competitors and will begin at 6pm the day prior to the event.  Failure to attend will result in the forfeiture of entry fees and disqualification for the event.  Exception: Those anglers holding a Freedom Pass.

ABA Freedom Pass: Anglers holding a Freedom Pass that cannot attend tournament registration and/or briefing must have someone represent them or must call the Tournament Director before 4:00 pm local time the day of registration.  It is the angler's responsibility to contact the Tournament Director or have someone represent them at the on-site registration and tournament briefing.  Failure to call or have a representative will result in the angler's name being withdrawn from the competition and forfeiture of entry fee.  A Freedom Pass may be purchased prior to the event or on-site for $25 annually.

All details for the tournament such as pairings, what time to be on the water Saturday morning, start time, take off time, and check in time will be sent by text to all competitors AFTER 6:00 PM.  Entries must be verified before sending texts.  If you are not entered, you will not get them.

*Sponsors may elect to change or modify prizes at any time at their discretion.

Office hours for ABA HQ are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Late fees start after 5:00 PM on Wednesday, the week of the tournament.  At that time, you will no longer be able to register online.  You must call ABA HQ to enter. 

You can call HQ and register on Thursday, and up to but not after 12:00 Noon on Friday, the day before the tournament but this is a late registration and will include a $25 late fee. 

Onsite registration is at the ramp, and ONLY taken from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday afternoon at the stage trailer.  This is also a late registration and will include a $25 late fee.  No exceptions.

For pre-registered anglers: failure to check in or notify the tournament director of your intent to fish by 6:00 PM Friday evening for ALL REGISTERD PARTICIPANTS will result in forfeiture of your entry fee.  No refunds or transfers.

Tournament Information:

A Liability Release Form for the 2023 season MUST be signed by ALL competitors before you are allowed to fish.  If this is your first tournament with us this season you must come to the ramp and sign this form on Friday night before the tournament, exception anglers holding a freedom pass. Anglers holding a freedom pass must sign the waiver before takeoff.  Any competitor who has not signed this form before takeoff on Saturday morning will be pulled from the event.

Off limits: The well at the hot hole from point to point and the skimmer wall. Anglers must have a South Carolina fishing license.
