ANDERSON, S.C. – Emil B. Wagner won the Boater Division in the American Bass Anglers Open Series, Presented by Caymas Boats, South Carolina Division 9 third tournament of the season, held March 11, 2023, at Lake Hartwell on the Savannah River straddling the Georgia-South Carolina line.

SENECA, S.C. – Randy A. Childers won the Boater Division in the American Bass Anglers Open Series, Presented by Caymas Boats, South Carolina Division 9 tournament, held February 18, 2023, at Lake Keowee.

South Carolina Division 9 To Open Season On Lake Murray

ATHENS, Ala. – South Carolina Division 9 of the American Bass Anglers Open Series, Presented by Caymas Boats, will open its new season on Feb. 19, 2022, on Lake Murray in Columbia, S.C.

The anglers will run out of Dreher Island State Park, located at 3677 State Park Road in Prosperity, S.C. to fish the 50,000-acre hydroelectric power impoundment.

Anderson Takes The Win On Clark’s Hill

ATHENS, Al. – Phillip Anderson of Saluda SC, won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series event held on Clark’s hill on 6/26/21. Running out of the Dorn boating facility in McCormick SC, Anderson weighed in a five bass limit weighing 14.75 pounds. Anderson’s limit was anchored by a bass weighing 5.28 pounds which was the largest bass weighed in by a boater. Anderson took home $1640.00 for his catch.

Burroughs Takes The Win Lake Hartwell

ATHENS, Al. – Jason Burroughs of Hodges SC, won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series event held on Lake Hartwell on 6/5/21. Running out of Green Pond Landing in Anderson SC, Burroughs weighed in a five bass limit weighing 16.84 pounds. His limit was anchored by a bass weighing 4.14 pounds. Burroughs took home $1500.00 for the win.

Brad Benfield Takes the Win on Lake Russell

ATHENS, Al. – Brad Benfield of Demorest GA, won the South Carolina Division of the American Bass Anglers Open Series held on Lake Russell on April 4th. Launching out of the Hwy 72 park in Elberton GA, Benfield weighed in a five bass limit weighing 14.46lbs. “I was fishing a wacky rig bait on throwing at different types of structure in the 15-foot depth,” said Benfield.

South Carolina Opens on Lake Keowee

ATHENS, Ala. – The South Carolina Division of the Bass Pro Shops Open Series will hold its first event of the season on Saturday, February 13, 2021, on Lake Keowee in Seneca, SC, launching out of South Cove.

At this same time last year, Greg Rikard of Leesville SC weighed in a five-bass limit on Keowee on 2/29/2020

Johnston Takes the win on Lake Murray

Phillip Johnston of Jefferson, GA won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series event held on Lake Murray on 7/25/20. Running out of Dreher Island State Park Johnston weighed in four bass weighing 15.45 pounds. His catch was anchored by a bass weighing 5.48 pounds. Johnston took home $1200.00 for his catch.

DeBord Takes the Win at Clark’s Hill

Steve DeBord of Grovetown, Ga won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series event held on Clark’s Hill on 7/11/20. Running out of the Dorn Boating facility in McCormick, SC DeBord weighed in a five bass limit weighing 19.45 pounds. His limit was anchored by a bass weighing 5.24 pounds which was the biggest bass weighed in by a boater. DeBord took home $1730.00 for his catch.

Rikard Wins South Carolina Season Opener On Lake Keowee

ATHENS, Al. – Greg Rikard of Leesville, SC won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series event held on Lake Keowee 2/29/20. Running out of South Cove Park in Seneca SC, Rikard weighed in a five bass limit weighing 19.00 pounds even. His catch was anchored by a bass weighing 5.83 pounds which was the biggest bass weighed in by a boater. Riker took home a total of $1720.00 for his catch.

Burroughs Takes The Win on Lake Russell

ATHENS, Ala. – Jason Burroughs of Hodges SC, won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series event held on Lake Russell 6/22/19. Running out of Hwy 72 boat ramp in Elberton, GA Burroughs weighed in a five bass limit weighing 13.86 pounds. He took home a check for $2300.00 for the win. Being in the Mercury Marine program Burroughs also qualified for extra monies from Mercury.
