Autery Opens Season With Win On Lake Palestine TYLER, Texas. – Ryan D. Autery won the Boater Division in the American Bass Anglers Open Series, Presented by Caymas Boats, East Texas Division 11 season opener, held Feb. 19, 2022, at Lake Palestine. Launching at the Villages Marina in Flint after a morning fog delay, the Richardson angler caught his 5-bass tournament limit in a very small stretch of water. He finished with 14.06 pounds, anchored by a 4.94-pounder that took the Boater Division big bass title. |
East Texas to Fish Delayed Opener at Lake Palestine ATHENS, Ala. – East Texas Division 11 of the American Bass Anglers Open Series, Presented by Caymas Boats, will begin its new season a little later than planned. The division anglers will open their season on Feb. 19, 2022, at Lake Palestine near Tyler, Texas. The original season opener, set for Feb. 5 on Lake of the Pines near Avinger, Texas, was postponed due to unsafe weather conditions. The new tournament date will be announced soon. |
East Texas To Kick Off A New Season ATHENS, Ala. – The East Texas Division 11 of the American Bass Anglers Open Series, Presented by Caymas Boats, begins its new season Feb. 5, 2022, on Lake of the Pines near Avinger, Texas. The anglers will run out of the Johnson Creek U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ramp, located at 80 Crestwood Loop in Avinger. The lake spreads across 16,919 acres of Upshur and Morris counties. The lake drops to about 50 feet deep in places. |
Pedigo Takes the win on Lake of the Pines Brandon Pedigo of Lawton, OK won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series East Texas tournament, held July 18th on Lake of the Pines, TX. Running out of Johnson Creek State Park, Brandon was able to come out on top with his five-bass weighing 22.17lbs. The top three boaters were separated by less than 2 ounces on a day where the heat index was over 105 degrees in the middle of a Texas summer? Yes! The lake was on fire on the surface and so was the fishing. |
Tough Bite at Palestine ATHENS, AL. – Robert Sparks of Heflin, LA won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series East Texas tournament, held February 1st on Lake Palestine, TX. Running out of lake Palestine Resort, Robert caught five-bass weighing 17.90 lbs. Still raining for almost the entire week, the lake level was low and, on the rise, but the weather was warm again. The same as the week before on Sam Rayburn, the skies broke, and the sun came out just in time for the anglers to get on the water and enjoy some good sunshine and 60-degree weather. |
Ray Roberts Tamed by Morrison ATHENS, Ala. –Cody Morrison of Collinsville, TX won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series East Texas tournament, held May 4th on Ray Roberts. Running out of Isle Dubois State Park, Morrison caught five-bass weighing 27.98-pounds. |
East Texas Head to Lake Palestine ATHENS, Ala. – The East Texas Division of the 2019 Bass Pro Shops Open Series presented by American Bass Anglers will host the 2nd event of the season on March 30th, 2019 at Lake Palestine. The competitors will launch at The Villages Resort, located at 18270 Singingwood Lane, Flint, TX 75762. Anglers may begin fishing at 6:30 a.m. or safe light. The weigh-in will begin at 3:00 p.m. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. local time at The Villages with the tournament briefing to begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening. |

Texas East Set to Open on Cedar Creek ATHENS, Ala. – The Texas East Division of the 2019 Bass Pro Shops Open Series operated by American Bass Anglers will open February 9 2019, on Cedar Creek in Malakoff, TX. The competitors will launch at Log Cabin Boat Ramp, 13603 Alamo Rd, Malakoff, TX 7514. Anglers may begin fishing at 6:45 a.m. or safe light. The weigh-in will begin at 3:00 p.m. Registration begins at 4 p.m. local time at Log Cabon Boat Ramp with the tournament briefing to begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening. |
Gambill Strikes Again
Consistency is key to staying on top and Brian has found himself there 3 times in the last 3 years winning an event in each of them. The 2-time AOY landed another victory on Saturday at the 4th divisional event before the area championship, placing himself in contention to claim yet another at Lake Texoma next month. His bag of five-fish came across the scales early during weigh in at 18.20-lbs and held up for the win. Gambill walked away with a winning check for $5000.00. |

Running out of Flint, TX, the 70-boat field left at 7:00 AM. For the boaters, 14 places were paid out and it took 11.06 pounds to make the cut. Pirce caught a five-fish limit weighing 23.70 lbs with a healthy 6.04-pound kicker. For the boater division victory, he took home a check for $5000. |
Round 2 For East TX Division 11 ATHENS, Ala. – The East Texas division of the American Bass Anglers Open Series will hold its second event of the 2018 season on March 24thth just outside of Tyler,TX. The weather has been beautiful, and things could be setting up for a dynamite day on the water. The competitors will launch at The Villages Marina located at 18270 Singingwood Lane, Flint, TX. Anglers will begin fishing at safe light with the weigh-in starting at 3 P.M. Onsite registration and check in will be from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM Friday March 23rd at The Villages. |
