Steve Phillips Wins On Rayburn Athens, AL., Steve Phillips of Diboll, TX won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series South Texas opener on Sam Rayburn held this past Saturday, January 30th. Phillips brought in a five-fish limit that weighed 20.13 pounds, and his largest bass was 7.06 pounds. For winning the event, Phillips won $5,000 plus another $640 for the biggest bass. |
Mark Hooker Wins Day 1 of Sam Rayburn Double Header Mark Hooker of Montgomery, TX won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series South Texas tournament, held June 20th on Big Sam Rayburn. Sam Rayburn Double Header June 15, 2020, Athens, AL. June 20 and 21 ABA and Bass Pro Shops will host a doubleheader weekend on Lake Sam Rayburn out of in Brookeland, TX. The second and third tournaments for the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Southeast Texas Division will be held. Both events will launch from Umphrey Pavilion, County Road 255, Brookeland, TX, 75951. Louisiana angler David Beason of Evans LA Won the first event on Rayburn this season with an impressive 29.90 pounds limit with a 8.74 big bass kicker. David Banked $5,200 for the win. |

Division 10 Heads to Sam Rayburn ATHENS, Ala. – The South East Texas division of the Bass Pro Shops Open Series will hold its final one-day event of the 2019 season on September 14th in Brookeland, TX on Sam Rayburn Reservoir. The competitors will launch at Umphrey Family Pavilion, Located at 3967 Recreation Rd 255, Brookeland, TX. Anglers will begin fishing at safe light with the weigh-in starting at 3 p.m. Onsite registration and check-in will be from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM Friday, September 13th at the Umphrey Pavilion. |
Summer Heat Produces Numbers on Sam Rayburn ATHENS, Ala. – Todd Driscoll of Jasper, TX won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series South Texas tournament, held June 29th on Sam Rayburn Reservoir. Running out of the Umphrey Pavilion, Todd caught five-bass weighing 19.58 lbs. With 81 anglers in the field, Todd took home a check for $5500.00 in a very close finish at the top of the leader board. Even in the summer heat, Sam Rayburn shows why it's one of the best fisheries in the south. With 138 anglers in the field, (Boater and Co-Anglers) 513 bass were brought to the scales in all, combining for a total weight of 1,323 lbs! The weather had been warm and humid leading up to Saturday, but cloudy skies prevailed and a rainy overcast day set the tone for the event. The boats left the ramp at 0545 |

Running out of the Umphrey Family Pavilion, Lewis caught five-bass weighing 26.77-lbs. With 90 anglers in the field, Chris will be cashing a check for $5500.00 |
Southeast Texas Opener on Sam Rayburn ATHENS, Ala. – The South Texas Division of the 2019 Bass Pro Shops Open Series presented by American Bass Anglers will open the season on February 23, 2019, on Sam Rayburn. The lake has consumed all Mother Nature threw at her in January. The banks are swollen with record high water levels, but she is recovering and recovering well with bag weights already busting over 34 lbs. With numerous ramp locations remaining closed, we have recently learned that some have opened for business and we will be returning to the Umphrey Family Pavilion for this first tournament of the season. Located at 3967 Recreation Rd 255, Brookeland, TX the Umphrey Family Pavilion is waiting for our return.
