Barretta wins on Gaston Thanks to all the anglers that came out and fished the ABA Division 17 tournament on Lake Gaston. April 23, 2022 - 15 anglers launched from the Summit Ramp on Lake Gaston out of Summit, NC. THIRTEEN of those anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Dominic Barretta from Clarksville, VA took the victory with 14.86 lbs. For the win Dominic took home $432 in prize money. |
Bobby Clark wins on the Roanoke River Thanks to all the anglers that came out and fished the ABA Division 17 tournament on the Roanoke River. It started off pretty chilly but warmed up pretty good in the afternoon. |
Bobby Clark wins the D17 2 Day Championship August 7th and 8th, 2021, 27 anglers launched from Water Street ramp on the Roanoke River out of Plymouth, NC. Day 1 was cloudy and rainy and day 2 was hot and humid. After 2 days of fishing Bobby Clark from MacClesfield, NC took the victory with 2 - 5 fish limits that weighed 36.38 lbs. For the win Bobby took home $1320 in prize money. Bobby Clark also had big fish for day 2 of the Championship that weighed 5.41 lbs and took home the day 2 Big Fish pot. Congratulation Bobby. |
Chase Theis wins on the Roanoke River Thanks to all the anglers that came out and fished the ABA Division 17 tournament on the Roanoke River this past weekend. It was a great day on the water. July 24, 2021, 26 anglers launched from the Water Street Ramp in Plymouth, NC on the Roanoke River. Eighteen of those anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Chase Theis from Hubert, NC took the victory with 21.52 lbs. Chase also had BIG FISH of the tournament with a GIANT 9.28 pounder. Chase said he caught his fish up river on soft plastics. For the win Chase took home $660 in prize money. Congratulations Chase! |
Andrew Skinner Takes the win on the Chowan River Thanks to all the anglers that came out and fished the ABA Division 17 tournament on the Chowan River this past weekend. It was a hot day on the water and tough fishing for a lot of angler due to the water still being high from the tropical storm that went through a couple days earlier. |

Mike Colbert wins the ABA NC Central Division 17 Tournament on the Roanoke River Thanks to all the anglers that came out and fished the ABA Division 17 tournament on the Roanoke River. At least we did not have a cold front for this tournament but we did have about an hour and a half fog delay. May 22, 2021, anglers launched from the Water Street Ramp on the Roanoke River out of Plymouth, NC. Ten anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Mike Colbert from Newport, NC took the victory with 17.83 lbs. For the win Mike took home $401 in prize money. Mike said he caught his fish about a half a mile up river on creature baits. Mike also had BIG FISH of the tournament with a nice 6.81 lb kicker. Congratulations Mike! |
Carl Enos wins the ABA NC Central Division 17 Tournament on Lake Gaston Thanks to all the anglers that came out and fished the ABA Division 17 tournament on Lake Gaston this past weekend. It started off cold and then rained in the afternoon but at least it warmed up to the 60’s in the afternoon. April 24, 2021, 20 anglers, 19 boaters and 1 non-boater, launched from the Summit Ramp on Lake Gaston out of Summit, NC. Fifteen of those anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Carl Enos from South Hill, VA took the victory with 16.10 lbs. For the win Carl took home $543 in prize money. Carl said he caught his fish about midway up the lake on buzz-baits and sinkos. Carl also had BIG FISH of the tournament with a very nice 5.23 lb kicker and took home the big fish pot. Congratulations Carl! |
Rip Bass wins the ABA NC Central Division 17 Tournament on the Roanoke River Thanks to all the anglers that came out on a cold and super windy day and fished the ABA Division 17 tournament on the Roanoke River. I don’t think I have ever seen 2 to 3 foot rollers at the ramp like we had Saturday. |
Matthew Oakley wins the D17 Tournament on the Roanoke River August 1, 2020, 21 anglers launched from the Water Street Ramp on the Roanoke River out of Plymouth, NC. Eight anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Matthew Oakley from Farmville, NC took the victory with 14.21 lbs. For the win Matthew took home $539 in prize money. |

Only four anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Michael Hobbs from Gaston, NC took the victory with 11.82 lbs |
David Sasser Takes the wins on the Tar/Pamlico River June 13, 2020, 9 anglers launched from Tranters Creek Ramp on the Tar River out of Washington, NC. Six anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed David Sasser from Sneads Ferry, NC took the victory with 12.64 lbs. For the win David took home $313 in prize money. David said he went down to the Pamilico around Chocowinity Bay and fished a combination of lures to include Sinkos and frogs to catch his fish. Congratulations David! |
Nathaniel Dayton Takes the win on Roanoke River On June 27, 2020 at Water St Landing on the Roanoke River, Nathaniel Drayton of Jacksonville, NC won the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour Division 17 tournament presented by American Bass Anglers. Nathaniel brought back a five-fish limit that locked in the scales at 11.22-lbs. He also lander the biggest fish of the tournament with a nice 3.29 largemouth. |

For the win Mike took home $850 in prize money. Mike Roberson also accumulated the most points in Division 17 and earned the ANGLER OF THE YEAR title for the division. |
