Haynie Wins on Lake Blackshear May 15, Cordele, GA. George Haynie of Cordele, GA. won the American Fishing Tour Division 74 District Championship on Lake Blackshear April 29 and 30, 2023. Running out of the Mega ramp near Cordele, GA. Haynie brought back a five fish on day one that locked in the scales at 7.27 pounds. On day two he caught another limit adding 13.90 pounds with a 5.34-pound kicker for a two-day total of 21.17 pounds. |

Luke Montgomery takes the win on Lake Blackshear The AFT D74 tournament held at Lake Blackshear on 10 April 2022 started out with temperatures in the mid-thirties. Due to the recent storms the lake level was dropped almost four feet and was very muddy. However, Luke Montgomery of Smithville, GA. managed to beat the odds and the win tournament. Luke’s five bass limited tipped the scales at 17.59 pounds to take first place for $376 cash. Luke anchored his catch with a 6.08-pound kicker which landed him an additional $110 for big fish of the tournament. |
Paul Anthony takes the win on Lake Blackshear Paul Anthony of Dawson GA. takes the win at the AFT D74 tournament held at Lake Blackshear on 27 March 2022. He said that he caught his fish early on jigs and crankbaits. He stated that warmer water played a key factor in where he found fish. |

Launching out of the Mega ramp in Veterans Memorial State Park in Cordele, GA. Steve brought back five fish that locked in the scales at 18.29 pounds anchored by a 6.21-pound kicker. Steve caught his fish on shallow running crankbaits, for the victory he took home a check for $406. He also landed the largest bass of the tournament landing him an additional $140 |

Running out of the Dennis Station ramp near Eatonton, GA. Ableman brought back five fish that locked in the scales at 18.96 pounds anchored by a 5.10 pound kicker. For the victory he took home a check for $313. He fished shallow running crankbaits around hydrilla to bag his limit. He also landed largest bass of the tournament landing him an additional $90. |
