What Keith does for a living:

Sr printer with WellStar Health systems in Georgia

What you should know about Keith:

Served in the US Marine Corp from 1976-1984

How Keith started fishing

Born in St James Mo, family vacationed in the Missouri Ozarks every year, started tournament fishing in 1984 when i was Honorably discharged from the Marines. Srated working for Mark winkler Mgt in Arlington Va, joined Woodbridge Bass Anglers that year, moved to Conyers Georgia in 1987 joined Rockdale Co Bass Anglers, qualified for the top six Federation every year while in all of my Federated club as a non boater. Won AOY with Lake City Bass Anglers in Acworth Ga twice. Joined ABA in 2006 and love it.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

To win the ABA D125 AOY, The ABA nationals and to finish No.1 in the Marine Ranks each year.

Favorite way to fish

No favorite way, just what the situation calls for, like to be good at everything.

Most exciting fishing experience

When my wife and i Becky moved to Conyers Ga, i joined Rockdale Co. Bass Anglers, very first tournament i ever fished in Ga was with this club and i won putting a 10-8 largemouth on the wall, club's bug fish of the year and was AOY

How Keith preps for a tournament

Study season patterns for the lake i will be on from notes i have and reports. Check line, hooks, and my boat from bow to stern

Three favorite search baits

1) Carolina Rig, to tell me what type of bottom i am fishing

2) Crankbait for active fish before i slow down to pick the area apart

3. Spinnerbait

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

i have won several but the one i won at Sinclair my first tournament in Ga i was cranking boat dock posts, banging a bagley's Killer BII of the posts, caught a 10-8 kicker

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Travel, and staying focused if you are tired

When tournaments don't go my way

Just break it down from start to finish to see what i could have done different, many times i felt i did what i should have done even though i didn't win.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Learn something everytime out on the water

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

In S.E. Reseviors, learn the Carolina Rig, especially as a non boater, the Carolina rig has put many Trophies on the wall and money in my pocket both as a non-boater and boater.
