What you should know about Robert:

Family man who loves to fish.

How Robert started fishing

Started as non-boater first with BuckTown Bass Masters club. Then as a non-boater with ABA PA Division 9

Aspirations or goals with fishing

To get better with each outing while remembering to have fun!

Favorite way to fish

Soft plastics are confidence baits.

Most exciting fishing experience

Following the Elite Series Pros on the Delaware River. Seeing them fish where I fish!

How Robert preps for a tournament

some online prep with weather sites and fishing reports. I also check my notes from previous years. Cut and retie everything rod I am going to use.

Three favorite search baits

Spinnerbait, Crankbait and a Shakey head worm(fished quickly)

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

3rd with ABA on the Delaware River. Fished as a non-boater and caught all of my fish on a crankbait.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Staying positve when others are catching them and you are not.

When tournaments don't go my way

After having a melt down after a bad tournament during my second year fishing with the ABA my wife reminded me that I was supposed to be having fun. I have never forgetten that day or my best friends advice. Thanks Honey!

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Fish a non-boater for at least one year!

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Fish a small plastic worm on a split shot and texas rigged. You will get the feel for what that bite feels like and will take that to other techniques.

When learning a new technique take only rods with that lure tied on and fish until you are comfortable with the technique.

Become versatile! Somedays the won't bite your favorite lure/technique.

Remember to have fun.
