How David started fishing

Caught my first fish ( a bull head ) as a young boy in a lagoon in Chicago and I was hooked!  I fished my first tourney on Braidwood Lake over 15 years ago and loved the competition. Been after it ever since

WIN! And help anyone discover there abilities in the outdoors.

Favorite way to fish

Spinnerbaits and Chatterbaits, but only as long as I have the magic shad swim bait from Lake Fort Trophy Lures as a trailer.

Most exciting fishing experience

Fished for 5 days in Saskatchewan Canada. My arm hurt for a week. Awesome trip with awesome friends.

How David preps for a tournament

Internet, Google earth, maps, then get on the water, time of season.

Three favorite search baits

Spinnerbait, Chatterbait, swim bait.

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

Well I don't think I have had one of those yet even though I have had my fair of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and of course last places.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Change and timing.

When tournaments don't go my way

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Fish your way!

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Keep it simple. Buy really good equipment that will last. Far as baits, don't buy the ones that catch your eye, buy the ones that catch the fish. When someone wins the Classic with a $4 or $5 bait it goes to $10 or more over night thats crazy. Don't by it. Also invest in a lure retriever.
