What you should know about Wayne:
I am married to a wonderful woman named Cindy and we have two boys.
How Wayne started fishing
Fishing for me started out as way to have fun with friends but as most thing with friends it turned in to a competition. So I wanted to try my luck at fishing against tougher competition. I found I really loved competing in Bass Tournaments.
Aspirations or goals with fishing
My goal is to be able to compete at the highest level of the sport and make a living fishing.
Favorite way to fish
My favorite way to fish is shallow water grass fishing. I love throwing top water frogs, flipping heavily matted grass and just about any other styles around shallow grass. There's such a rush for me when fishing shallow grass due to the fact you never know what or how big the fish is on the other end.

How Wayne preps for a tournament
My prep for a tournament is heavy lake or river study and practice making sure I have an understanding of what the fish are doing and water conditions. I also go through and check all systems on my boat making sure that everything is operating properly. I will go through all of my tackle making sure everything is in top working condition.
Three favorite search baits
My favorite search baits consist of a Rattle Style Bait, Swim Bait and a casting Jig.
Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.
My best tournament finish was a win in another Tournament Trail. The greatest thing about that is I got to catch fish the way I love to fish. I won the tournament on a top water hollow belly frog.
Most challenging part of tournament fishing
When tournaments don't go my way
Tournaments that don't go your way can be very frustrating. I try to have an open mind and learn from what ever mistakes I made during that tournament. That way I can be better prepared for the next one.
Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:
Remember to always have fun and don't let the pressures get to you. This is the greatest sport on earth so have fun.
Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport
My recommendations for someone getting into the sport is, try to keep it simple and focus on one or two styles of fishing. For a beginner I would probably concentrate of fishing a plastic worm and a shallow to medium diver crankbait.
