What you should know about Greg:
I give honest truthful responses.
How Greg started fishing
Fished with my family since three years old. Fishing was my sanctuary and a cooping escape from family issues. Fished to survive!!
Aspirations or goals with fishing
To continue to get better and learn more techniques from fellow anglers!
Favorite way to fish
Topwater Fishing
Most exciting fishing experience
It’s hard to just pick one day. I have been fortunate to fish all over the world while I served in the USAF. I have fished in Japan, South Korea, Italy, Africa, Cuba, Australia, Hawaii, and IRAQ in Sadam Hussein’s private ponds! But I would have to say that fishing with my brothers (Brian (deceased) and Darren) makes it more memorable just with time spent with them!
How Greg preps for a tournament
Prepare by studying lake information from past experiences and current situations and getting gear ready for usage based off of research results. Possibly conducting some pre-fishing practice.
Three favorite search baits
I use spinnerbaits, crankbaits and topwater lures to cover water.
Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.
It’s not about the finish at this point, just loving the opportunity organizations like ABA provides anglers and co-anglers is amazing!
Most challenging part of tournament fishing
Not knowing the lakes and rivers makes it the most challenging, but will be better the next time.
When tournaments don't go my way
I re-evaluate my day and see what I could have done better for the next time.
Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:
Join local clubs for tournaments and anglers to learn. Utilize YouTube and research fishing baits, techniques and location to prepare you.
Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport
Use simple well respected baits such as crankbaits and spinnerbaits when starting out.
