What Danny does for a living:

I am a Superintendent for a Pipe Fabrication Shop.

What you should know about Danny:

This is hard because I don't talk about myself.  If I had to say anything it would be that I am a stickler for honesty.  I can be your best friend or your worst enemy.  I am willing to help anyone that is willing to help themselves.  I am just a laid back country boy who loves to hit the water every chance I get.  I love how it lifts my tension and then how it gets me so excited when I feel that tug and then win that battle between fish and man.  I was raised hard and have earned everything that I have.  My dream is to one day be in a position to fish all of the time.

How Danny started fishing

I was an avid Deer Hunter and when running dogs became illegal some friends got me started trot lining for catfish.  Then some other of my friends got me interested in bass fishing.  It started with some club tournaments and just grew from there.  Next thing I knew I was into big tournaments with several 1st place wins, top tens in FLW and several Angler of the Year awards in different tournament circuits.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

I strive to be better every time I go out.  I would like to continue getting more and more sponsors and eventually be able to do this full time.

Favorite way to fish

My favorite way to fish would have to be flipping heavy cover.  It is such an in your face way to fish.  I really feel like I have accomplished something when I am able to pull that hog out of some cover.  It's like I won that battle.

Most exciting fishing experience

My most exciting experience would have to be Fishing the FLW Everstarts series on Lake Falcon.

Lake Falcon was on fire and I was up against the best of the best.

How Danny preps for a tournament

I try to get as much practice as I can on the lake that I will be fishing.  I review past lake levels and conditions and I study my Humminbird mapping and weigh points.  I also monitor the lake levels and water conditions of the tournament lake.

Three favorite search baits

My three favorite search baits are crank baits, carolina rigging soft plastics and the Alabama Rig.

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

My best finish would have to have been Bass and Bucks circuit on Sam Rayburn.  I won first place stringer and Big Bass and Ranger Cup money.

I was throwing weghtless sinko's in 10' of water and hydrilla for post spawn fish.  My Big Bass weighed in at 9.68 lbs. and the stringer was 26 lbs.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

The most challenging part would be the competition and trying to establish a pattern that you know is going to bring you the win.

When tournaments don't go my way

That's just part of the game.  Some times you are a hero and sometimes you are a zero.  You just can't let it get in your head.  You have to shake it off, congratulate the winner and kick butt the next time.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

If you aren't going to give 150% everytime, to every event, then don't waste your money or your time..

There is always someone out there that is going to be better than you are, but as long as you are giving it your all, then keep on going.  Don't let the losses get to you, keep on giving it your best and the win will come.

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

The best technique that I can share is to pick out one section and fish it with what you are comfortable with.  Confidence is a big player in this game.  If you start catching on something stick with it but you have to have an open mind and try new things.Go with what you have learned from your experience, listen to others but put eveything you have on it.
