How Dalton started fishing

My fellow USAF buds got me hooked....fished my 1st MBAA tournament in the early 80s on Palistine and have been going ever since.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

Do the best I can do....

Favorite way to fish

However I caught my last fish.....

Most exciting fishing experience

Having a 10+ smash a Pop R just a few feet in front of the boat @ Los Banos Creek in CA

How Dalton preps for a tournament

I like to cover water, look for groups of fish then concentrate on high percentage areas

Three favorite search baits

Square Bill. Buzz bait. Bomber 7A

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

SOBs (Southern Oklahoma Bassers) Championship, we drew a lake out of an hat the night before, I had never seen the lake prior to the sun coming up, sat on the only brush pile I could find. Wacked them on a senko.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

staying adjusted to current conditions....

When tournaments don't go my way

Get over it and move on.....

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

1, Find a mentor

2, go early and stay late (there is no substitute for time on the water)

3, learn how to use your electronics!!!

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Pitch a weightless wacky worm a lot. Work it dead slow. And hang on.....
