What you should know about William:

How William started fishing

I grew up fishing with my dad. When I wasn't on the boat with him I was wading in autuaga creek or riding my bike to any water that might hold fish

Aspirations or goals with fishing

At this point in my life I just want to have fun and catch fish

Favorite way to fish

Flipping and swimming a jig would be my favorite way to fish but these days you have to be versatile if you want to compete

Most exciting fishing experience

It's either catching an almost 8lbr flipping in a classic on Bankhead and it helping me and my best friend win first place and angler of the year. Close 2nd would be catching a 7lb spot in a wildcat tournament on holt lake on a big glide bait

How William preps for a tournament

Honestly I don't really prep much. I'll rig a couple of rods and make sure my batteries are charged. I take a much more laid back approach and it has helped me to not get spun out on tournament day.

Three favorite search baits

Swim jig a-rig and a jerkbait

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

I've won a bunch of tournaments on the local level but the biggest one was winning $3800 in a big local tournament

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Working a full time job and not being able to practice.

When tournaments don't go my way

I'm pretty tough on myself I don't give up no matter how bad  conditions are

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Make a go of it when you're young before life gets in the way

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Try your best to learn one new technique a year and master it
