What Truck, Boat and Outboard does Ben run?

I'm currently fishing as a co-angler.

What Ben does for a living:

What you should know about Ben:

How Ben started fishing

Both of my grandfathers fished, as did my father.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

The 2021 ABA tournaments are my first experience with tournament fishing.  I'm just soaking it all in and trying to learn as much as possible from my boaters.  I've been taking lots of notes about how other folks rig gear, break water down, make decisions and etcetera.

Favorite way to fish

Working jigs around structure or chucking swimbaits and cranks.

Most exciting fishing experience

Hooking into a 5+ pound smallie while randomly casting a shiner on a jig head near the islands on Lake Erie drifiting with my father.  I was probably about 12 years old and I hooked up on an ultralight reel/rod that I had just brought along as a spare for perch.  My first few steelhead were pretty rewarding as well.

How Ben preps for a tournament

Checking the weather, pre-rigging gear, and trying to get a good night's sleep.

Three favorite search baits

Squarebill, Swim jigs, Swimbaits

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

When tournaments don't go my way

I remind myself that there's a bunch of other guys with way more experience and their own boats who didn't get on them that day as well.  At the sametime, I tried to think through what I could've done differently and what I need to work on to improve.
