What you should know about Chris:

I am just a down to earth, easy going guy.  I enjoy spending time with my family and going to church when I'm not working or fishing.

How Chris started fishing

I started tournament fishing with my uncle and stepdad in Cleveland County Bass Club when I was 10 years old and stuck with it.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

My goal is just to get on the water and have all the fun I can have in that one trip. I would love to one day fish against the big names, but I'm pretty honest with myself. There are thousands of weekend anglers in this world and there are only a few hundred to a couple thousand that have actually made it. I will say this when I am fishing none of that matters because to me I am the greates that I will be in that moment.

Favorite way to fish

I enjoy starting out fast to find the fish, then my favorite part starts when I slow down and pick apart a piece of structure with a worm or jig.

Most exciting fishing experience

My most exciting experience comes from a tournament I fished at Cane Creek in Star City, Arkansas where I caught the biggest bag I ever weighed 23.67 lbs. You just don't forget things like that.

How Chris preps for a tournament

When it's possible obviously I like to spend time out on the water, but I have found one of the most crucial ways I prepare is research on water conditions and looking at my graph for contour lines.

Three favorite search baits

Crankbait, Spinnerbait, and Chatterbait

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

I have won several times, but my most recent is at Pendleton on the Arkansas River and I was able to key on the shad spawn and catch 18.89 lbs throwing a 1/2 oz spinnerbait.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

My biggest challenge is honestly having the time to put in on the water with a full time job and a family to provide for, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

When tournaments don't go my way

I'm an it is what it is kinda guy. If it's meant for me to win, then I win, if it's not then OH WELL. My great reward is when I leave this earth, so a couple hundred bucks don't mean much to me.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

I have won many of tournaments in the last hour when it's so stinking hot you can barely breath, so my advice is chunk and wind baby!

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Absolutely, I believe sometimes we "avid" bass fishermen overthink things and if we focused back on the basics that we would explain to a new comer we may remember oh that still works too.
