What Billy does for a living:

I currently work for the Government ( NASA ) as a receiving

specialist.

What you should know about Billy:

Im

a very passionate individual , whatever I do I pour my whole heart and soul into it

Iím a family man who loves his wife and kids dearly. I will also do what I can to help others

who need it. Iím also a fun person and at time a very funny guy.

I also started a group on Facebook called the Ditch Pickle Boyz

we are land based Bass bank fishing tourney group/ club

We hold tourneys on private land, retention ponds , bayous  or

wherever we can find enough room hold between 30-50 guys and their cars

The guys compete for donated prizes from sponsors and some cash. I am

Currently looking for a way to hold live weigh ins . And I will find a way to do it .

How Billy started fishing

My father and grandmother started me fishing as did many other

guys parents did. I started tournament fishing last year as a co

angler and now Iím competing in my 2nd season as a Co

angler and I love it. Someday I hope to make the move

to a boater. Iíve been fishing in the FLW/BFL tourney formats

and just recently found out about the Ram open series from a friend

who fishes these regularly . This whole experience as a co

angler has been very rewarding and very educational for me. Iíve learned

many things from my boaters and other anglers. I wouldnt change

Anything.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

To continue learning and see how far I can I go.

Fish the classic

Favorite way to fish

I love cranking cause I can make the bait dance and it causes major strikes.

Most exciting fishing experience

Making it to Regionals in my 1st BFL season  and fishing on

the Red River.

How Billy preps for a tournament

Night before I re spool all reels and get at least 3 rods rigged

up and ready to go.

Three favorite search baits

Crank bait, Rattle trap, Keitech swim

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

I finished in 5th place on day one of a super tourney and

dropped to 17th after day 2 and on both of those days I

was cranking and throwing wacky worms all day long in the BFL

tourney and that got me to regionals.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Fishing used water, itís hard

When tournaments don't go my way

This is all about having fun and making new friends .

Its called fishing not catching. So it does no one any good

to stress out cause you havenít caught a fish. Just be patient

and stay calm and things will happen for you .

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Stay calm and try not to stress out. And ask your Pro questions

and just watch him also. You just might learn something.

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

The best thing to do is watch Bass University videos

you can learn a lot from the pros in those videos
