What you should know about Zachary:

How Zachary started fishing

Brother introduced me to bass fishing when I was young and it has been a passion ever since.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

Just enjoying the outdoors and competitive atmosphere.

Favorite way to fish

Weightless soft plastic. Seems to be the best all around presentation in any any area I have fished.

Most exciting fishing experience

Every fishing trip is an exciting experience.

How Zachary preps for a tournament

Lots of map and terrain research with a good night's sleep and even better breakfast.

Three favorite search baits

Spinner bait, crank bait, and spook.

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

2nd place finish in the divisonal 2 day championship. Making every cast count. Power fishing from sun up till 3 oclock.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

The fish. Day to day changes can completely alter fishing techniques.

When tournaments don't go my way

Never sweat it. Begin working on the next tournament.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Dont let the tournament get into your head. Remember that you are in competition with the fish, not the other anglers.

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Bass are predators and will eat almost anything. That being the case a wide variety of baits should be in your arsenal but always try to match the local prey.
