What Truck, Boat and Outboard does James run?

My Sponsors

What James does for a living:

Delivery driver, and father

What you should know about James:

I love introducing my children to the outdoors.  They have all become fishing fanatics especially my oldest son who can catch bass with the best of them

How James started fishing

My grandfather used to take me for catfish in Texas. When I came to NY I started to focus more and more on bass. I fished a few local tournaments and did well with several wins. I fished one FLW event in 2008 but the experience left me with a bitter taste from the boater I was with but I couldn't lose the urge so I'm trying again

Aspirations or goals with fishing

I would love to fish more tournaments but my main goal is to pass the sport on to the next generation.

Favorite way to fish

Topwater, I always get a rush when the fish explodes on the surface

Most exciting fishing experience

My son catching a 6 pundits largemouth on topwater

How James preps for a tournament

I research the area and tailor my tackle according to conditions

Three favorite search baits

Buzzbait, torpedo, soft plastic

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

First place! I  stuck with my formula for that area of throwing  a buzzbait over weeds

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Adapting to conditions

When tournaments don't go my way

I look back at what I did and reflect on what I could have done different and use it as a learning experience

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Don't be ro rigid. Always have enough types of tackle so that you can adapt if the need comes up

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport
