What Brian does for a living:

Law Enforcement Officer (Deputy Sheriff)

What you should know about Brian:

How Brian started fishing

I started fishing for bass and crappie at a young age with my Grandfather on the Coosa River. As I got older I started fishing as a co angler in a couple different trails. I took a break for about ten years then started fishing again as a boater in 2016.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

The ultimate goal is to make it to the Tour level, but my goal in every tournament is to do the absolute best that I can do and build from that.

Favorite way to fish

Growing up and living in the southeast, I am obviously a power fisherman. Flipping, Moving baits and keeping the trolling motor going covering water is how I love to fish.

Most exciting fishing experience

How Brian preps for a tournament

I start by narrowing down what baits I am going to use and planning what areas I will fish (usually by the time of year and what lake Im on). I then break down those ares and try to fish them thoroughly and locate where most of the fish are congregated. I then try to replicate that in the tournaments.

Three favorite search baits

Buzzbait, Swimbaiit, Crankbait

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

For me the most challenging part of tournament fishing is adjusting to different lakes. Sometimes you can get caught up with trying to make the fish bite what you want to throw, because it worked on another lake the previous week, instead of giving them what they want.

When tournaments don't go my way

I always learn something from fishing tournaments if I do good or bad. I take that learning experience and apply it to future tournaments and try not to make the same mistakes.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Put your time in on the water. Trial and error is the best teacher. Dont be affraid to think outside the box. 90% of the fish are in 10% of the water.

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Flipping bait, Spinnerbait, Crankbait. Keep it simple and go fish.
