What Albert does for a living:

Operations Supervisor for Valero Refining.

What you should know about Albert:

I enjoy hunting, fishing and raising cattle.

How Albert started fishing

I have been fishing my entire life. I began tounament fishing in the late 80's.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

I want to help expose as many young people to the outdoors as possible. I hope to qualify for the Forest Wood Cup and Bassmaster Classic some day as well as the Ray Scott Championship again.

Favorite way to fish

I prefer any type of topwater bite but will not let that stand in my way when that bite is not present.

Most exciting fishing experience

Qualifying for the Ray Scott Championship.

How Albert preps for a tournament

Preperation for tournaments begins with relying on my faith and aslo past knowledge, media information and my "gut feelings".

Three favorite search baits

Rattle trap, spinnerbait and frog.

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

I won a championship tournament on Sam Rayburn with 34lbs. I was fishing a windy hydrilla point with a black on black Sniper buzzbait.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Time management is the most challenging during a tournament.

When tournaments don't go my way

Learn from the mistakes. I often go back on the lake after an unseccessful tournament and try to figure out where my decisions were wrong.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Stay open minded and don't get discouraged early in your career. Learning how to lose is very important.

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Fish with what you have confidence with, techniques and lures.
