What you should know about Jeremy:
How Jeremy started fishing
My dad tauight me how to bass fish at the age of 13. We then started tournament fishing every weekend.
Aspirations or goals with fishing
Build enough confidence in my fishing abilities to sart fishing as boater in bigger tournaments.
Favorite way to fish
If the shakey head bite is going, then I can be very successful. I do well because I use lighter line than most. I use 8lb fluorocarbon.
Most exciting fishing experience
I was 14 fishing the end of the year classic with my dad. At the time my biggest bass was around 4lbs. I ended up catching a 6.01lb bass and was able to earn big bass honors and win the tournament. At the time that was our biggest win together.
How Jeremy preps for a tournament
I start off by doing research through google earth if I have never been to the lake before. I will also try to watch youtube videos on that particualr body of water. If I have fished it before, I will take into consideration the time of the year and the water temp. Once I am on the water, I try to fish typical seasonal patterns, but I will also try to find something off the wall that no one else is doing.
Three favorite search baits
My favorite search baits are crankbaits, chatterbaits, and a swimbait.
Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.
My best tournament finish is when i won my first club tournament out of my own boat. I won it on Clarks Hill throwing a shakey head.
Most challenging part of tournament fishing
The most challenging is trying not to listen to dock talk and sticking with you game plan.
When tournaments don't go my way
When I have a bad tournament, I try to refelct back on what I could have done better and figure out what part of the puzzle I missed.
Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:
The only way to get better is spend as much time on the water as you can and learn different techniques.
