What Joseph does for a living:

I help and protect the public in their times of trouble.

What you should know about Joseph:

I respect others and always try to help them when I can.  You never know when you may need the help in return.

How Joseph started fishing

Aspirations or goals with fishing

My goal is to always have fun and respect other fisherman and the outdoors.

Favorite way to fish

The most exciting way for me to fish is topwater.  You get a jolt of excitement that can't be beat in fishing.

Most exciting fishing experience

Working as a mate on my Grandfathers party fishing boat in Brooklyn, New York

How Joseph preps for a tournament

Check all equipment, batteries, tackle to ensure there are no major issues.  Do internet research about the lake or river and find resources like bait and tackle shops, walmart, hotels, and food establishments.

Three favorite search baits

Rattletraps, Xraps, and topwater baits.

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

I am the proudest of my 6th place finish in the AFT National Championship in 2013.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Dealing with other anglers who do not respect the rest of the field.  Blowing no wake zones, cutting people off, and thinking they are the only ones out on the water.

When tournaments don't go my way

Learn from them!

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Focus on your personal strenghts and be adaptable to change.  Don't get stuck on how you caught the fish yesterday if that pattern will not wok.

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Live bait and a cork!  Learn the other stuff once you get hooked on the sport.
