Dave Hogge Takes First and Big Bass at Stillhouse Hollow

Division 52 in Central Texas, May 10, 2009,Dave Hogge from Nolanville Texas brought in big bass 8.89 and a total five fish stringer going 18.10 to top the 31 member tournament on Stillhouse Hollow Lake. The day started out overcast 66 degrees and very little wind, our member reported catching fish on numerous baits and techniques today. The weather remained ideal for the day with clouds giving way to partly cloudy and light winds, 85 degrees. Dave took home $625.00 and $155.00 for big bass with this win. Dave’s big bass came on a Carolina rigged watermelon red centipede in 13 foot of water on a point leading from a spawning area. Dave reported fishing several spots with the rig and a white Sinko to fill out his limit, culling one time. Second place went to Melvin William Jr. with a five fish bag of 13.16. Third went to Bob Babcock with 13.08 five bass limit. Our division points leader James Banks had a strong fourth place showing which will make it very difficult for the rest of the field to take the top honors of Angler of the Year away from James.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour Regional Championship that will be held this fall. The Top six anglers were:
