16 anglers fished this Lake Greenwood 1-day tournament. The day started out at 57 degrees and ended with the 3pm weigh-in at 84 degrees. It stayed mostly sunny all day with a wind out of the SW at 5 to 10 mph. Water temp averaged in the upper 60`s. The main lake was clear but it was a little stained in the rivers and creeks.
Our winner, Casey Hendrix of Newberry, SC had 5 fish at 12.47 pounds that included a 3.45 pound kicker. Casey fished the lower part of the lake and caught his fish shallow on jigs, lizards and Pop-R`s and took home a check for $405. In 2nd place was Steve Christie of Gray Court, SC with 5 fish at 11.49 pounds. Steve caught all his fish on Carolina rigs on the middle part of the lake. Steve`s payback was $308. Phil Morris of Saluda, SC was 3rd with 5 fish at 11.07 pounds and the tournament big fish of 3.99 pounds and took home a check for $201. Phil fished the lower part of the lake in the backs of 2 creeks. 3 fish came on a crankbait in shallow water and 2 fish (the better fish) came off beds on a Texas rigged lizard. The big fish came on the lizard. Other productive lures were topwaters, flukes, floating worms and spinnerbaits

The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
