ATHENS, Ala. – Billy won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Tennessee Division 31 tournament, held March 30, 2014 on Old Hickory Lake.
Running out of Bull Creek landing near Gallatin, the Nashville, Tennessee angler caught five bass weighing 21.25 pounds with a 4.95 pound kicker. For the victory, Billy took home a check for $388. Billy caught his fish on a swimbait.
In second among the competitors, Clark Cowley of Nashville, caught five bass weighing 15.30 pounds with a 5.85-pound kicker and pocketed a check for $201. Taking third place, Jason Dies, of Lebanon, Tennessee, caught five bass weighing 11.80 pounds. He pocketed a check for $71. In fourth place, Marl Barrett caught three bass weighing 10.70 pounds, including the biggest bass of the tournament weighing 6.15 pounds.
These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
