ATHENS, Ala. – Barry Stokes won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Georgia Division 72 tournament, held April 6, 2014, on Lake Sinclair
Running out of Little River Marina landing near Milledgeville, the Covington, Georgia, angler caught 5 bass weighing 16.55 pounds with a 4.35-pound kicker. For the victory, Barry took home a check for $650. Barry caught his fish on spinnerbait, crankbait and fliiping.
In second among these AFT competitors, Aaron Batson of Oxford, Georgia, caught 5 bass weighing 16.27 pounds with a 5.11-pound kicker and pocketed a check for $408.
Taking third place, Brian Bishop of Gray, Georgia, caught 5 bass weighing 14.27 pounds with a 4.08-pound kicker and pocketed a check for $168.
Aaron Batson of Oxford, Georgia, won the big bass contest with a 5.11-pound lunker and won $165 for big bass.
In fourth place, Stalnaker of Milledgeville, Georgia, caught 5 bass weighing 13.98 pounds with a 4.31-pound kicker. Jay Carter of Warner Robins, Georgia, rounded out the top five competitors with 5 bass weighing 13.97 pounds.
These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
The next divisional tournament will be held April 26, 2014 on Lake Oconee near Buckhead, Georgia.
