The tournament was held during a cool and breezy day with intermittent rain on Lake Norman during the Charlotte, North Carolina Division 14 tournament held on March 29, 2014. On the day before were forecasts of possible thunderstorms, strong wind and rain and large hail, but by Saturday morning it had turned for the best.
The tournament was won by Michael Fox with five fish weighing a total of 9.96 pound. In second was James Bumgarner with five fish weighing 9.26 pounds. Big fish honors went to Terry Royston with a 3.49 pounder.
The bite was slow in the morning and improved as the barometric pressure stabilized later in the tournament. Fish were caught with jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and jigs.
The next divisional tournament will be held on April 26, 2014 on Lake Norman going out of McCrary Landing.
