The Division 26 Tournament on Clark’s Hill on Sunday, March 16, 2014 had a couple of special competitors toe-off with the lake’s local talent. Valerio Morini, host of “Troppo Imbranato per Pescare” (which, translated in English, means “Too Clumsy to Fish”) and Luca Quintavalla, a top bass tournament angler, came in from Italy to shoot two 30 minute shows on bass fishing in America. The show which is on pay-for-view, owns huge market share with the majority of its viewership being teens to late twenty-something’s.  It is sort of a “Harry and Charlie” style show with Luca trying to make an angler out of the clumsy Valerio. The laughs and missteps keep the watching audience laughing while introducing them to the numerous techniques Luca has used to become the KVD of Italy.

After participating in a local tournament on Saturday, March 15 – which they took fourth place in – they decided to try their hand at the American Fishing Tour format sharing the boat with another competitor while actually competing against that angler and the other anglers in the event. In Europe all bass tournaments are team format events. They say the anglers in Italy have trust issues and don’t want to share information with anyone other than their partners.

Both Anglers weighed limits with Quintavalla taking eighth with a 12 pound bag and Morini taking 11th with 9 pounds and some change. They were very excited to compete in the ABA event and said that they were living a dream that all European Anglers have… to compete in an American Bass Tournament.
