Second place was Sean Anderson of Leesville, SC with five fish at 22 pounds. Sean caught his fish on jigs and crankbaits fished around rocks in the middle part of the lake. Sean won $305 for his haul.
Don Kneece, of Saluda, earned third place with five fish weighing-in at 20.02 pounds and Big Fish with a 7.93 pound kicker. Don fished the upper part of the lake and caught his fish including his big fish on a jerkbait fished around creek mouths and wood. Don took home a check for $163. (This big fish now leads the Season Big Fish for D-96 which earns the winner an ALX Zolo Series Rod.)
Fourth place was Phillip Anderson, of Saluda, with five fish at 19.67 pounds. Fifth place was Joey Sabbagha, of Little Mountain, with five fish at 16.55 pounds.
The most productive lures mentioned by our anglers were jigs, crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and soft plastics. Docks, rocks and wood seemed to be the place to find the best fish.
These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, 2014 AFT National Championship Tournament on Old Hickory Lake near Hendersonville, Tennessee in October 22-24, 2014.
The next Division 96 tournament will be held for the 2014 season on January 5th, 2014 on Clarks Hill Lake out of the Dorn Facility near McCormick, SC.

The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship.
