James Banks Takes the Win on Belton Lake
James Banks won American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Texas Central Division 52 Tournament, held December 1, 2013 on Belton Lake.
This was the division’s second event for the 2014 season. Running out of Temple Lake Park near Morgan’s Point Resort, the Lampasas, Texas angler caught five bass weighing 8.41 pounds. For the victory, James took home a check for $538.
In second among the competitors, Charles Regan caught four bass weighing 6.72 pounds. Mao Mata, of Killeen, took third place with his two bass weighing 6.45 pounds with a 3.51 pound kicker taking the big bass award. In fourth place was non-boater Nolan Allred, who caught three bass weighing 4.53 pounds. A total of 30 bass were caught, weighing 50.77 pounds. The majority of the fish weighed in were beautiful Belton Lake small mouth!
These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
