Art Vitale Wins on Lake Hopatcong
From New Jersey Division 10 tournament, Sept. 29, 2013 – Running out of Lees Park landing near, Mt. Arlington, NJ. Art Vitale, of Kenilworth, NJ, caught five bass weighing 13.52 pounds with a 4.30-pound kicker. For the victory, Vitale took home a check for $281. Art caught his fish drop-shotting in deep grass. He also won the big bass contest with a 4.30-pound lunker, collecting an extra $45.
In second among the competitors, Mitch Pierson, of Newton, NJ, caught his 11.88 pounds of fish while drop-shotting deep grass and pocketed a check for $115.
These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
The next divisional tournament will be held October 13, 2013 on Greenwood Lake, launching out of Moose Head Marina.
