Second place, Kevin Fulmer of Prosperity, SC fished the middle and lower parts of the lake as well. Kevin’s fish came on topwater baits with 5 fish at 15.48 pounds and won $278.
Third place was Beau Dixon of Leesville, SC with 5 fish at 13.45 pounds and a $71 payback.
All the top three finishers had success with topwater baits on the mid to lower part of the lake. The tournament big fish at 5.92 pounds was caught by Phillip Anderson of Saluda, SC flipping at docks with soft plastic baits on the lower part of the lake.
These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, 2014 AFT National Championship tournament.
The next Division 96 tournament will be held for the 2014 season on October 6th, 2013 on Lake Russell out of Hwy 72 Ramp near Calhoun Falls, SC & Elberton, Ga.
