In second among the competitors, Art Vitale of Kenilworth, NJ caught seven bass weighing 9.38 pounds with a 4.38-pound kicker. Vitale caught his fish while drop-shotting as well and pocketed a check for $187. Vitale also secured the NJ ABA Division 10 Angler of the Year!
Taking third place and Big Bass, Barry Burner, of Watchung, NJ, caught two bass weighing 6.87 pounds with a 5.40-pound kicker. Burner caught his fish on black w/blue fleck worms. He pocketed a check for $80. This was the third time of the 2013 season Burner scored Big Fish.
These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
The next divisional tournament will be held 9-29-13 on Hopatcong out of Lee’s Park Marina.
