Mat Campbell Takes First on Old Hickory Lake

Mat Campbell, a Fort Campbell soldier in Clarksville, Tennessee, won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Tenn. Division 31 tournament, held 05/12/2013, on Old Hickory Lake. Running out of Bull Creek landing near Gallatin, Tennessee, the Clarksville angler caught 5 bass weighing 13.35 pounds. For the victory, Matt took home a check for $281 along with a 5.40 pound kicker for big fish for the tournament.

Second place went to Ryan Dunnagan with a weight of 12.90 pounds. Jason Dies took home third place with 7.85 pounds.  And fourth place went to Frank Minner, of Indianapolis, Indiana with his catch of 3.10 pounds.

The front and rain that came through the night before caused the temperature to start out in low 40's, with winds coming out of the Northwest. Matt had the pattern figured out.

The next tournament will be held 04/14/2013 on Old Hickory Lake at Bull Creek ramp, near Gallatin, Tennessee.

These angles accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from from each division will complete in the American Bass Angler of the year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
