Jeff Dobson Takes First on Sooner Lake
From Oklahoma Division 122, March 16, 2013 on Sooner Lake – Running out of the West Ramp near Stillwater, the Ponca City, Oklahoma angler, Jeff Dobson, took home first place with 5 bass weighing 27.32 pounds with a 6.79 pound kicker for Big Bass of the event. For the victory, Jeff took home a check for $725 and 200 points. Jeff caught his fish on a swimbait.
In second among the competitors, Bryan Klinger, of Ponca City, caught 5 bass weighing 19.38 pounds. Bryan caught his fish on a jerk-bait and pocketed a check for $362.
Taking third place, Neil Booher of Arkansas City, Ks, he caught 5 bass weighing 18.83 pounds. Neil pocketed $123 and caught his fish on a crankbait.
Taking fourth place, Glen Hughes of Stillwater Ok caught five bass weighing 17.63 pounds and took home a check for $97.
In fifth place, Steve LaRue of El Dorado, Ks caught 5 bass weighing 16.50 pounds and earned a check for $65.
Weather conditions were brutal, 35mph winds out of the east.
These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round Fish-Off.
