Melvin O. Jiggetts Wins on Blackwater River

ATHENS, Ala. – Melvin O. Jiggetts won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Virginia Division 3 tournament, held March, 2, 2013, on Blackwater River.

Running out of Franklin VA landing near Franklin, the Virginia angler caught 3 bass weighing 4.97 pounds with a 2.47-pound kicker. For the victory, Melvin O. Jiggetts took home a check for $200.00 Melvin caught his fish on Jerkbaits and creature baits.

These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.

The next divisional tournament will be held April 13th on Lake Gaston near Bracey, Virginia.
