Portland Tenn. - Fred Needham won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Tenn. Division 31 tournament, held 02/17/2013, on Old Hickory Lake.
Running out of Bull Creek landing near Gallatin,Tenn the Portland, Tenn angler caught 5 bass weighing 12:35 pounds with a 4.10 pound kicker. Fred caught his fish on jig and a shake head. Jason Dies of Lebanon, Tenn. won the big Bass contest with a 5.95 pound lunker. He catch his fish on a secret lune. The day started out with a temperature of 22 degree and end up a nice day of 45 degree. Fred started his day with a frozen throttle cable which broke right of the bat. and ended having to fish the mouth of Bull Creek. Bad start but ended up as a good day.
These angles accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from from each division will complete in the American Bass Angler of the year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA,AFT National Championship tournament.
The next tournament will be held 03/03/2013 on Old Hickory Lake at Bull Creek ramp, near Gallatin, Tenn.
