Campbell Dominates at Lake Hamilton
Division 47 of ABAs American Fishing Tour held its fifth qualifying tournament of the 2013 season on Lake Hamilton launching from the AGFC ramp 26 Jan 2013. Overcast skies and an occasional drizzle kept the day frigid and in the 40s. Water temps in the mid-40s have the fish in a solid winter pattern. Only 13 5-fish limits crossed the scales. The number of fish weighed-in was down compared to our 8 Dec tournament but the average fish size was up. The majority of fish weighed in were largemouth. Only a few spots and no smallies crossed the scales. A few anglers found some better than average Hamilton fish and overall, 34 anglers caught 111 bass for a total weight of 181.76 pounds.
Jeremy Campbell brought in 5 bass that weighed 17.48 pounds for $663. Jeremy also landed a 6.73 pound Hamilton hawg worth $170. Jeremy caught his fish on jigs in 15 to 20 feet of water and took home a total of $833 for his effort. Dennis Lagrange hauled in second place with a total weight of 12.30 pounds. And Doug Thompson rounded out the top three with 10.98 pounds. |
