Peter Ferrentino Wins on St. Johns River South

ATHENS, AL – Peter Ferrentino, of Deleon Springs, Florida, won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Florida Division 106 tournament, held December 1, 2012, on St. Johns River South.

Running out of Midway Marina near Asto, Florida, Peter caught 5 bass weighing 14.07 pounds with a 3.70 pound kicker. For the victory, Peter took home a check for $338. Peter caught his fish on a June bug swimming worm.

In second among the competitors, Anthony Ford of New Smyrna, Florida, caught 5 bass weighing 12.63 pounds. He caught his fish on top water devil horse and zara spook and pocketed a check for $146.

Taking third place, Randal Hutcherson of Pierson, Florida, caught 4 bass weighing 11.40 pounds with a 4.25 pound kicker. He caught his fish on a June bug swimming worm and pocketed a check for $55 for big bass of the tournament.

In fourth place, John McKinney of Palatka, Florida, caught 5 bass weighing 9.46 pounds. Clark Walker, of Palm Coast, rounded out the top five competitors with 5 bass weighing 8.57 pounds.

These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.

The next divisional tournament will be held January 5, 2013 on St Johns River South near Astro, Florida.
