Finishing in first place was Mike Echols of Athens, GA with 14.81 pounds and took home $538. Second place was Andy Lake from District 96 in South Carolina with 12.77 pounds, which earned him $324. Following-up in third place and taking home $110 was Jack Williams from Waynesboro, GA with 10.65 pounds. And in fourth place was, from Saluda, SC, Don Kneece with 9.53 pounds and taking home $84. Division 26 director William Hooker would like to welcome the six new members to District 26 and thanks to all the fishermen for a safe bass tournament today. All spotted and black bass were released alive at the 72 boat ramp.
The next divisional tournament will take place December 15, 2012 on Russell Lake, launching out from the 72 ramp.
The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship.

Twenty-four anglers fished Lake Russell for the first District 26 one-day qualifier for the 2013 AFT National Championship that will be held on Clark Hill Lake. The day started out with cloudy skies,windy 15 mph winds and 34 degrees and reached the mid 50’s by the 3 pm weigh-in. Wind was out of the NE at 10 to 15 mph all day long it became sunny by weigh-in. Water Temp was 59 degrees in a.m. and Russell Lake was lightly stained and 1.70 feet low.
