Cody Moss from Bluffton, South Carolina, is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a first place win and earned $299.00, in this weekend’s American Fishing Tournament held on the Savannah River this past weekend. Moss fished from the back of a boat and managed to bring a limit to the scales, his five bass limit weighted in at 9.02 pounds. Second place went to Berry Descaro with five bass weighing 7.07 pounds, and third place went to New Member Christopher Chavis with five bass weighing 6.11 pounds. Big Bass honors went to Cody Moss who caught a 3.56 pound largemouth.
These anglers are acquiring valuable points in an attempt to insure their birth in the ABA National Championship this fall.

Weather Conditions: The days leading up to the tournament started the bass movement and made for a tuff day on the river. The temperatures averaged 76 degree. The morning began with a light fog and temperatures where in the mid 60‘s. The fog lifted about an hour after the launch and opened to blue bird skies. The day ended with temperatures in the high 70’s.
The bait of the day was plastic, plastic and more plastic a few fish came off of crankbaits. Most anglers reported catching their fish in tide water, with little acting in the main river. The anglers reported fishing in the lakes and oxbow.
Next Tournament is the Division Championship: The Tournament in Division 94 will be on March 24th out of Millstone Landing in Hardeeville, SC.
