In second among the competitors, Tom Dupuis of Terryville, Connecticut, caught five bass weighing 11.93 pounds with a 3.73-pound smallmouth bass kicker. Tom caught his fish on a small deep diving crankbait with his boat positioned in 25-30 feet if water.
Taking third place, Kevin Jaracy of Bristol, Connecticut, caught four bass weighing 11.61 pounds with a 3.85-pound kicker. That smallmouth turned out to be the big bass of the tournament although Jason never divulged the secret to catching it.
In fourth place, Joe Marsh of Frankford, New York, caught one bass weighing 2.44 pounds and Tom Sweeney of Glastonbury, Connecticut, rounded out the top five competitors with two bass weighing 2.14 pounds.
These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
The next divisional tournament will be held 27 April 2013 on Candlewood Lake near New Fairfield, Connecticut
