Troy Simmons Wins On Grand Lake
ATHENS, AL – Troy Simmons won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Division 58 tournament, held September, 15, 2012, on Grand Lake.
Running out of Tera Miranda Resort landing near Grove, the Winfield, Kansas, angler caught 5 bass weighing 11.79 pounds with a 3.66 pound kicker. For the victory, Simmons took home a check for $449.
In second among the competitors, Zac Udock of Carl Junction, MO, caught 5 bass weighing 10.55 pounds. Zac caught his fish on a shallow crank bait and pocketed a check for $259.
Taking third place, Jim Clay of Cherryvale, KS, caught 3 bass weighing 8.18 pounds with a 4.46 pound kicker to take big bass honors for the tournament. Jim pocketed a check for $174.
In fourth place, Greg Bohnsack of Ozark, MO, caught 4 bass weighing 6.65 pounds. William Stines of Skiatook, OK, rounded out the top five competitors with 3 bass weighing 6.32 pounds.
These anglers accrued valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
